Another year is almost over and we’ll spending the rest of the week sharing some of our favourite things and purchases. Before that, here’s a look back at some of the blog highlights and the most popular posts of 2022.
It was another fun year of Pusheen Box reviews and despite some very long delays and a few quality issues, I really loved all the boxes, especially the Vampurr theme. Look out for my Winter box review in the new year. It was also cool to get a look at the Cat Kit and Nova, Evey, Adora & Ophelia did a great job.
Other notable reviews:
- Learn Korean Hangul With Dr. Moku Review (Emma)
- Fuku Fuku Nyanko Happy Box (Marceline)
- My Stationery Subscription Box Review (Natasja)
- Rainbowholic vs Tofu Cute Gachapon Review (Marceline)
- Little Country Cottage: A Spring Treasury (Arlandyia)
- Skechers x tokidoki Sneakers Review (Nicolette)
Gabriel made us all very jealous by getting to visit the adorable new Hello Kitty & Friends theme at the ARTBOX Cafe. So much cuteness! Cons were back too and Emma took over the London events role, having a great time at both Hyper Japan and MCM Comic Con.
Discovering and promoting small artists and makers is always a priority for SCK and our Art & Handmade category is full of amazing talent, plus we started a new Kawaii Shop of the Week feature. This year I also brought back Meet the Artist interviews, chatting with Luli Bunny and Susie Ghahremani of Boygirlparty, and hope to do more in 2023.
Crafts & DIYs
We didn’t have as much time as usual for Original DIYs but I did create tutorials for both the Frosted Cookies and Spooky Cookies from Animal Crossing. It was also lovely to have Mollie of Wild Olive join us with a special Kawaii Halloween Pumpkin Wreath Tutorial to celebrate Halfway to Halloween. We made some fun things as part of our SCK Tries… series too with plush, felt flowers, cross stitch, bath bombs and more.
And of course we shared many many MANY posts about all our favourite kawaii characters. Celebrating anniversaries this year were Kirby (30th), Sailor Moon (30th), Cinnamoroll (20th) and Sumikko Gurashi (10th), while Kumausa and Cogimyun got their first features. The Cute Characters series continued too with Kawaii Ghosts, Kawaii Duos and Kawaii Pandas going head to head.

Huge thanks from all the team for sticking with us through another tricky year, especially if you took the time to leave a comment or share a post. I’m hoping to find the time to do another reader survey soon (including that long-promised giveaway…) but feel free to tell us anything you really enjoyed this year or would like to see on the blog next year.
