Rilakkuma has been getting all the attention lately but their San-X friends Sumikko Gurashi have also been busy so here’s a catch up of some of the latest products, collaborations and events.
It’s actually Sumikko Gurashi’s 10th anniversary this year and they’re celebrating with a special limited time cafe in Japan. It’s currently in Yokohama for the rest of October and has been so popular it’s possible they’ll extend it to more cities so keep an eye on the site or their Twitter account if you’re planning a trip. The food looks very cute and you can also buy special products in the shop.
Their latest San-X collection is Sumikko Baby but I’m really not a fan of baby themes so much prefer their recent take on Alice in Wonderland! VeryGoods (JP) have most things in stock, including some amazing plushies and a cute ita bag backpack.
If you’re a doll collector, there’s been some adorable collaborations this year and my favourite is the Pullip in an Ebi Furai and Tonkotsu outfit. That red tail bow is perfect. The San-X preorder is closed but you can still order it via doll sites like Pullip Style (US).
There’s also two outfit sets for Mell Chan themed around Shirokuma and Neko. I kind of want these in my size! You can order them from the Mell Chan store on Amazon (JP).
I loved the Tapioca Park theme earlier this year and Milk+T & JapanLA (US) knew it was perfect for one of their super cute boba kits. You get everything you need to make 6-8 boba tea drinks plus an optional cup.
And there’s still time for some Halloween fun as ARTBOX (UK) just added some cute dress-up plush ready to go trick or treating with you.
