Pick up a cute new book to read with crafts, recipes and creative ideas to buy now or add to your wish list. Some are are out now and others are available to pre-order. I’ve included Amazon links below and you might be able to find a good deal for Prime Day but you can also order through other sites, like Bookshop (UK/US) which supports independent bookshops near you.
Pokemon’s baby brand monpoke has released a range of adorable picture books (UK/US) that would make lovely gifts for new parents hoping to raise the next generation of Pokemon Masters. I’m sure a lot of grown-up kawaii fans will find it hard to resist the cute artwork too. Out now
Or sew some felt versions with Stitch 50 Pokémon (UK/US), a new official craft book. It’s suitable for beginners and includes step-by-step instructions and full-size templates so you can get making all your favourites for brooches, bag charms and home accessories. Out 3 September
Bakers who love plushies will need to pick up Squishmallows: The Official Baking Book (UK/US)! The 50 recipes are inspired by fan favourite characters, rather than recreating them in edible form, so you don’t need any special decorating skills. Instead this is a fun mix of sweet treats that everyone can enjoy. Out 3-5 September
You can always rely on Kim-Joy for a cute recipe book and Bake Joy (UK/US) has 35 Easy and Imaginative Bakes To Bring You Happiness, reminding you of what it was like to bake as a child. That means they’re suitable for all age levels and skills so if you’ve always wanted to bake, this could be a great introduction. They’re also incredibly fun to look at – click through to see some of the recipe images including a snowman pavlova and what appears to be a gummy shark-filled jelly cheesecake topping! Out 29 August
It’s published a little too late for beach day crafting but Aquatic Amigurumi 2 (UK/US) has 15 Seashore Softies you can make to remind you of summer. Created by @natura_crochet, these patterns are adorably quirky with a turtle, hermit crab, hammerhead shark, puffin, seahorse and lots more. Out 1 September

I wasn’t previously aware of the author’s shop Pigeon Coop but I really love the style of these with the full coverage designs and patterned details. Out 30 July / 10 September
If you can’t afford fresh flowers all year round, why not make your own? Crafting Paper Flowers (UK/US) shows you how to make 24 flowers and plants from crepe paper including bouquets and arrangements, a garland, wreaths and a potted plant. These would make lovely gifts too. Out 31 August
