It’s just over a week until Halloween and if you’re looking for a spooky season project, we have some new kawaii craft kits, patterns and downloads to make.

The Halloween collection at Craft Club (AU) includes quite a few fun home decor kits with yarn crafts in both spooky and Autumnal designs. My favourites are this Spooky Sofa set of needlepoint cushions but there’s also latch hook rugs, moss coasters and a trick or treating goose pouch.

Sweet Annet (EU) has so many inventive Halloween cross stitch kits that it was hard to pick one but these bats are so unique. All the kits come with wooden blanks, which makes them easy to stitch and ready to display as soon as you finish. As well as the bats, there’s pumpkins, trees, books, lots of decorative frames, and even coffins that open!

Trunky Stitches has some clever blackwork embroidery patterns with Halloween themes that you can stitch as coasters or bookmarks. The witch cats are my favourite, but I also love the pumpkins in another set. They’re all digital downloads and great for using up aida scraps and odd bits of thread.

Stick and stitch embroidery is a cute way to embellish things you already own, like clothing or bags, or you can arrange them into a design for display. Just stitch over the design and wash out the patch after. I like the mix of designs in this Spooky Season set from Rose Stitch Art (UK).

If you’re a bit of a scaredy-cat, Halloween decor doesn’t need to be frightening and Bea Kind has an adorable garland of happy pumpkins using felt. It’s a digital pattern so you can make as many pumpkins as you like, in any colours, and even turn one into a brooch or bag charm. Check the shop for some cute Halloween cats too.

The Halloween crochet patterns at Lemon Yarn Creations are all adorable, but especially Buffy the Bat who comes with a pumpkin basket to nest in, and candy corn. The digital pattern is intermediate level and available in both English and German. Check the shop for a black cat, witch, raven, Mothman and more.

The Woobles (US) have lots of Halloween crochet kits, including character collabs, that are mostly suitable for beginners and would make cute decorations or keychains. If you want to splash out, the spooktacular Creature Feature Box has 3 kits to make with a zombie, gargoyle and ghost (including glitter and glow in the dark yarn!), plus colour-in displays and accessories. That will keep you busy for a while.

This Halloween Palette resin craft kit at Sophie & Toffee (SG) is a Japanese import and so kawaii! It includes almost everything you need to make four cute keychain charms, plus picture instructions. The major item not included is resin but if you don’t already own some, Sophie & Toffee sell a wide range of colours, plus more tools and supplies. If you’ve enjoyed my Robotime reviews and want to try something yourself, there’s lots of new DIY miniature kits with Halloween themes at the Robotime shop (global). My top pick would be the Haunted Candy Shop with cute cat ghosts and shelves full of tiny jars of spooky things. The lights add some extra atmosphere for dark evenings too. I recommend clicking through to see more of the details.
