Winter 2019 Pusheen Box Review

Posted on January 29, 2020 by

While it is now 2020, the Pusheen Box for Winter 2019 did not disappoint with its theme, which is honestly fun and very helpful for escaping the chilly weather outside. If you like to battle the winter blues by staying cozy inside, here’s a look at my top five 5 from the box.

Winter 2019 Pusheen Box Review

The Winter 2019 box theme was baking, which I was very happy with as I love baking and also feel that it’s a theme that works for all seasons. I also loved that the colors are pastel, with the main colors being mint green and yellow. The box itself features Pusheen in a cute party hat, and the vinyl figure features Pusheen as a cupcake, nestled inside a cupcake liner with a cute dollop of cream on her back.

Winter 2019 Pusheen Box Review

There were 9 items total within the Winter 2019 box: Cupcake Pusheen vinyl figure, multi-use silicone spatula, cooling rack, set of 4 measuring spoons, cupcake liners, potholder, recipe cards, comfy sweatshirt, and a mini vacuum. I appreciated that there were several items I’d actually get use out of, and I especially loved the color scheme; mint green is my favorite!

Sweatshirt

Off the bat it felt like a high-quality sweatshirt due to its weight and softness. I prefer my sweatshirts just slightly oversized, so I found that it fits me just right. Yellow is typically not one my favorite colors, but I actually really like the shade and the embossed image of Pusheen baking makes it so cute! The soft fleece lining makes this a warm piece I’ll get lots of use out of while it’s cold, since I can wear it for both lounging and going out in.

Cooling Rack

It’s hard to choose, but the cooling rack is probably my top favorite item out of the box. It’s super cute and unique, shaped like Pusheen, and is mint green. What else could you ask for? It also feels very high quality; the wire is sturdy, and (so far) the paint has shown no signs of chipping off, which I did briefly wonder about when I first saw it. I only wish it were larger! The small size makes it easy to store, but it will not fit very much in terms of cookies and the like. Since that’s the case, I will probably get the most use out of it when I make things like small roll cakes or dipped candies that need to harden.

Silicone Spatula

It’s definitely the cutest spatula I own now! It is a smaller spatula than what I am used to using, so it probably won’t serve as a replacement for the spatulas I use for mixing and folding; since it’s made of silicone, it will come in handy for scraping the bowl, though! As a bonus it makes the ‘baking area’ of my kitchen counter much cuter.

Potholder

It’s made of 100% cotton so it feels of good quality, although it’s definitely one of the thinnest potholders in my collection, so I will probably skip using it when working with the oven at higher temperatures. Despite that, the design and color alone make it my favorite!

Measuring Spoon Set

The spoon set provides 4 common measurements: ¼ tsp, ½ tsp, 1 tsp, and 1 tablespoon, and a cute Pusheen ring to keep them all together. It’s something quite basic so I’ll be able to use them a lot, whether I’m cooking or baking! The spoons and ring are both made of a thick plastic that feels quite heavy-duty, so I anticipate that they’ll last forever. I keep a lot of my smaller baking utensils in drawers, but these are so cute I will have to find a way to display them.

Final Thoughts

I was very excited about the baking theme once it was announced, and I was not disappointed by the items. I did feel like the mini vacuum and recipe cards were things that I would not use much; the vacuum felt more novel and out of place compared to the theme and other items, and I prefer a recipe journal/book over individual recipe cards. I also used the cupcake liners but you can’t make out the Pusheen design at all after baking! But I do feel that this box was definitely worth its value, thanks to the cuteness and practicality of the items overall, and I look forward to seeing what’s inside future boxes.
