There’s been so much cute new stuff for Lunar New Year that I had to round up some more shopping picks and crafts for the Year of the Rabbit.
Noodoll (UK) always make an effort for Lunar New Year and this time there’s lots of new plush and some stickers too. My favourite is the dumpling but there’s also bokchoi, bean sprout, bunny, white tiger and even a pineapple Ricespud! For an extra special touch, you can add a hand-embroidered red envelope for a personal message or money gift.
Sanrio (US) have a very special Hello Kitty rabbit plush with gold embroidery and gold satin brocade that would make a lovely gift.
Starbucks Japan always make the cutest seasonal mugs and tumblers and their year of the rabbit collection is one of the best yet. It’s selling out fast but Sugoi Mart (JP) and Very Goods (JP) still have many of the items.
On to DIYs and MochiMochi Land has created a tiny Year of the Rabbit knitting pattern to help you make as many lucky bunnies as you like. It’s also available as a kit (US) if you don’t have the supplies on hand.
tatsukuriorigami has a whole playlist of new year themed origami projects including all kinds of cute bunnies. I think this rabbit figurine is my favourite and perfect for using origami paper with traditional patterns.
These Lunar New Year digital stickers by dokii studio are super cute and you get 50 hand-drawn characters that are perfect for journaling, snail mail and crafts.
