Christmas is coming and if you’re a fan of San-X, Sanrio, Pokemon, Pusheen or Disney, here’s a look at their cute new plushies for this year. The shops marked JP don’t ship outside Japan but we have a guide on how to buy from Japan.
Sanrio are the top choice for me this year as I’m in love with the Christmas sweater plush at Sanrio Japan (JP / Worldwide) which come in two sizes. Pompompurin is my favourite with his red beret and snowman jumper but I also love Pochacco’s wreath glasses!
Sanrio USA (US) also has some cute new plush with ornaments, reversible Hello Kitty and reindeer stocking (along with some amazing pop-up cards). All the 2021 plushies are on sale too, if you missed out last year.
On to San-X and Rilakkuma (JP/Worldwide) have gone for a Harmony Christmas theme, which means handbells, candles and angel wings. These are a bit too low key for my decorating style but perfect for more traditional displays.
Sumikko Gurashi (JP/Worldwide) are still celebrating their 10th anniversary and have a really fun collection of festive mini plush to choose from, including a tree, candle, reindeer and angel. There’s also some sweet handmade style plush of Shirokuma, Neko and Tokage.
Pusheen always comes up with something adorable and this year she’s dressed up as a Christmas tree! This plush is exclusive to The Pusheen Shop (US) but you can also find Santa Pusheen and some older designs at GUND (US).
And I need to squeeze in the Fuku Fuku Nyanko cats as they’re looking very festive at HAPiNS (JP)! It’s very hard to choose a favourite with so many cute designs but I do love a plush stocking.
