We haven’t caught up with all the San-X characters for a while so here’s a look at all the new themes for Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, Jinbe San and more. Click the first link of each for free wallpapers too.
The new Sumikko Gurashi theme might be the cutest yet – or maybe I’m just missing the outdoors? They’re off to Sumikko Camp this time and Penguin? has made a new otter friend! The products are adorable with little camping play sets, desk accessories and otter outfits.
Jinbe San the whale shark is celebrating his 5th anniversary this year with a new pearl dolphin theme. The products include some very pretty stationery and flowery plush including the 2 new dolphins.
Chairokoguma / Kogumachan is getting his first solo collection and the little bear cub wants to grow up! He’s drinking a lot of milk and practicing his growling. There’s a lot of cute stationery and little milk glasses too.
The whole gang are back together for Rilakkuma Fruits which feels so summery. The products have everyone dressed as fruit and hanging out with hedgehogs.
If you ever wondered what the Corocorocoronya bakery cats would look like as dogs, well now you know! They’ve met a Shiba Inu dog called Komame from the rice shop and their shared love of snacks seems to have helped them make friends. There’s lots of cute plushies to buy too.

Some of these products are available now and others will be released throughout May. You can order directly from the San-X Net Shop but you’ll need a forwarding service (read our guide for Tenso) to ship outside Japan. VeryGoods (Japan) also stock many of the products and ship worldwide.

I recently started following your blog and Instagram and appreciate the things you write about. I started collecting Sumikko Gurashi recently and found that a lot of the items are hard to get in the US. I recently found out JellyBeet.com also carries a good amount. Thanks for sharing this post and I hope I can get the Sumikko Otter character.
