It’ll soon be time to deck the halls and trim the tree and there is a decorating trend that seems to be gaining a lot of popularity online and in stores at the moment: pastel coloured candy and sweets.
Hobby Lobby (US) has a lot of sweets-themed ornaments including this glass one that looks like a wrapped bon bon with little pink bows on either end. They also have macarons with a glittery filling too.
Gisela Graham (UK) decorations are always very detailed and these ‘iced’ gingerbread trees are no exception. They’ve also got a bit of a sparkle to them too, which I imagine would catch in the fairy lights on the tree and ,are them extra sparkly.
If icing on your ornaments is something that speaks to you, then maybe you’d like some sprinkles too? These baubles from Tilda Loves Teddy (UK) have some ever so slightly neon pastel sprinkles on them and I think they’d a fun frosting touch to your tree, without actually adding cupcakes to it! There’s lots more pastel candy decorations too.
While you can’t hang Flying Tiger’s (Worldwide) pink gingerbread house creation on your tree, you could display it nearby and fill it full of festive treats for when you need a little pick me up from all the decorating.
If you REALLY want a Hansel & Gretel style gingerbread house for your tree, then John Lewis (UK) has you covered with this mint green ornament. They also have a pink and mint ice cream van topped with sprinkles from the same collection.
I love these Christmas candles from Meri Meri (UK) that have little candy canes on them (or little pink bows) and I also think they would match this aesthetic perfectly. I think they would have to be a decorative piece though, because I don’t think I could burn them!
This wool garland from The Peaberry Studio (US) is dotted with pastel peppermints and could be great hung around the tree or as a mantel display too. If you’re not sure how many you’d need to cover your tree, check out the description where they give a recommendation. If you’re going for more of a candy cane vibe, then they also have a red and pink candy cane garland too…
I feel like I’ve shared a lot of sprinkles and gingerbread and sweets, but what we need are some filler decorations that share the pastel colour scheme. These paper star decorations from Ginger Ray (UK) would be perfect and I love the little gold edges on them too.
If you’re looking for a nutcracker to fit the theme, then Marshalls (US) has you covered. They have a number of different ones, including one that is cupcake themed and topped with frosting. They also have a plain, pink ombre nutcracker if you just prefer the simple pastel colour scheme, and then a pack of mostly pastel glittery nutcrackers too if you want a few to spread around the house.
Will you be decorating like it’s Christmas in Candyland?
