It’s my birthday this week so what better excuse to look at some cute plushies. These all have a celebration theme so are perfect for gifting – or treating yourself! – for a lovely reminder of a special day.
It’s a mystery to me how I don’t yet own any Anirollz (US) plush, but now that my local WHSmith stocks them, it won’t be much longer. The newest releases are hard to find outside the US but the birthday plush are sure to make anyone’s day extra-cute. The Bunniroll in a cake is adorable (the bunny is removable) and there’s also Puppiroll & Kittiroll as sitting plush.
Do you share a birthday or birth year with a kawaii character? You’ll have to do a bit of searching but there are a few resources like this list of Sanrio Character Birthdays and our Cute Characters archives for anniversaries. If you’re 15 this year, you can join Pusheen’s celebrations! She’s got lots of fun plans for her 15th anniversary including this exclusive plush at The Pusheen Shop (US) and the upcoming Spring Pusheen Box (US).
On the other end of the scale, Tuxedo Sam is 45 this year and there’s a birthday collection at JapanLA (US) with lots of fun plushies. These 3 are brooches so you can wear one all day and there’s also a plush pouch, keychain, hair clips and tote bag if you want to make sure everyone knows it’s your birthday.
If you don’t have a matching character, Hello Kitty is here to help with the Zodiac plush collection at Kidrobot (US). There’s cute designs for every zodiac character as well as most of the Chinese zodiac animals. My own are above – Aries and Rabbit.
Pikachu is all ready for a Pokemon fan’s big day with a party hat and wrapped Pokeball gift. Pick him up from The Pokemon Center (UK/US), along with birthday card & pin sets.
You can’t have a celebration without cake and this Snacker Happy Birthday Cake from Squishable (US) will last a lot longer than the real thing.
Jellycat (UK/US) have had some amazing birthday cake plush in the past but most are currently sold out. There’s still some very cute bakery treats though like this perfect Dainty Dessert Bunny Cupcake which I got as a gift this year! It’s so soft and comes beautifully packaged in a gift box and dust bag.
