TokyoTreat & Sakuraco April Highlights

Posted on April 29, 2024 by ,

TokyoTreat & Sakuraco create monthly snack boxes to let you experience Japan from the comfort of your own home with seasonal and limited edition snacks and drinks. We’ve teamed up with them to show you what’s inside so here’s a look at the April boxes which are available now – look out for a special discount below! I’ve also finally set up multi-author posts since we’re sharing the boxes across the UK writers.

TokyoTreat – Ninja Snackventure

This month’s box lets you adventure into Japan’s most elusive and mysterious world of Ninjas with a sneaky and surprising selection of candy, snacks and drinks. There’s 14 different items including a full size bag of KitKats, drink and instant noodles, plus a colour booklet and a candy sword! 3 items are not suitable for vegetarians this time, including the ramen.

Marceline’s Favourites

  • KitKat Chocolate Orange – really zingy orange flavour with milk chocolate.
  • Spicy Ramen Noodles – very hot but great for lunch with some extra toppings.
  • Gold Nebuta Apple Juice – sweet and refreshing juice with a cool can design.
  • Pandaro Cookie – lovely and buttery with cute panda packaging.
  • Katana Candy Sword – this made me laugh and it’s really fun and well-made.

Sakuraco – Flavors of Hakone

Sakuraco has partnered with Kanagawa Prefecture to show off locally made traditional, authentic, and artisan Japanese snacks inspired by the beautiful waters and scenery of Hakone. This month’s box includes 12 different food items including full size bags and extras of some snacks, plus 2 Hakone Story Ryokucha green tea bags. The exclusive homeware piece is a Marquetry plate (bottom left). All but 1 item was veggie-friendly.

Nicolette’s Favourites

  • White Miso Financier – My fave. Delicious moist sponge with a savoury tang.
  • Matcha Konjac Warabimochi – Slippery soft jelly with a mild matcha flavour.
  • Strawberry Milk Almonds – Pleasant fruity coating on crunchy nuts.
  • Seven Flavours of Arare – Tasty selection of seaweed, soy and sesame flavour crackers.
  • Peanut Macarons – Crisp biscuits with a nutty toasted flavour. Very moreish!
