Christmas is coming and that means cute new festive plushies with all our favourite kawaii characters. Here’s some of my favourites from San-X, Sanrio, Pokemon, Pusheen and more.
My favourites this year are the Sumikko Gurashi plush, themed around strawberry shortcake, which is a popular Christmas cake in Japan. The cake plush with removable Tapioca is so sweet and I want so many of the mini plushies, especially the baguette! Some are already sold out at San-X (JP – requires forwarding service) but you can find everything at VeryGoods (JP).
Rilakkuma & friends have larger plush with Holiday Town Christmas theme. They’re all dressed up in cosy coats and hats for exploring the shops and markets. I love Koriklakkuma’s little shopping bag and Kogumachan’s fluffy tree. You can get all 4 at both San-X & VeryGoods, plus Oshoppu (UK).
This year’s exclusive Pusheen plush is a Yule Log, complete with holly berries, mushrooms and whipped cream! It’s only available from The Pusheen Shop (US) but there’s also a Gingerbread Squisheen plush that should be more widely available. There’s more festive treats too including a tree ornament, mug and cardigan. And don’t forget about the Winter Pusheen Box, which will have some items for the holidays.
Head to Paldea’s Christmas Market at The Pokemon Center (US/UK/Worldwide) where there’s plenty of cute plush to add to your decorations. The bouquet is incredible and there’s also individual plush and stockings with Pikachu, Psyduck, Sprigatito and more.
Sanrio Japan went traditional for Christmas with red and white Santa outfits for Hello Kitty & Friends. They sold out fast but VeryGoods (JP) have some. I actually prefer these Fuwakuta Bonbon plush, which are dressed up in fluffy winter capes and hats – you can preorder them from Oshoppu (UK).
Sanrio US have lots of holiday plush to choose from, themed around Sweater Weather, Holiday Caroling, Santa’s Helper and even The Nutcracker. There’s also some mini sized plush you can hang on the tree.
Disney (US/UK/JP/Worldwide) have a massive Christmas collection with a different range in each region. There’s all sizes of plush including surprise boxes and advent calendars and these Urupocha-chan plushies are too cute!
