January 5th is Strawberry Day in Japan as 1/5 sounds the same as strawberry. They always make for a sweet theme so here’s some kawaii strawberry picks.
I ordered from the San-X Japan store recently and couldn’t stop myself adding these Sumikko Gurashi dessert plushies to my cart! They’re from last November’s cat siblings & patisserie collection, which includes so many cute plushies with strawberries on top. You can still buy many of the items from San-X (requires forwarding service), VeryGoods (JP) and Cuteness (EU).
Pusheen fans can also get a cute cake plush as there’s a pink swiss roll mini Squisheen available at The Pusheen Shop (US), along with a matching patch and t-shirt. ARTBOX (UK) have the plush too.
The Sanrio characters also love strawberries and Sanrio Japan (requires forwarding service) has so many adorable – and useful! – items featuring Bonbon Ribbon and My Melody like bags, snack boxes and hand towels.
I bought some stationery from Mugobunni (CAN) recently and everything was so kawaii I want more. They have some cute strawberry items at the moment including bunny stickers and thin glitter washi tape that’s ideal for borders.
bande’s sticker tape is always fun and they have a strawberry version that would make decorating your journal or mail super easy. You can get it from SomedaySomeplace (JP) who have lots more bande tapes too.
If you’re already pining for spring, Whimsicute (PH) has a colourful Strawberries and Spring sticker set. You get stickers in four different sizes including the alphabet and gingham backgrounds. There’s a few other strawberry items too.
And of course, strawberries are good to eat too! Tofu Cute (UK) have so many yummy strawberry-flavoured snacks and drinks to choose from, with some special types of Pocky that strawberry fans will want to try. I love this bunny packaging but there’s also some heart-shaped Pocky that would make a sweet Valentine’s Day gift.
