If you want to crochet your own little winged friend, Ember Mischief has, amongst other creepy cute patterns, an informative guide to making your own fruit bats! Another awesome design you’ll find there is for an adorable Plague Doctor.

My personal favourite woolly brand is TOFT (UK), and my favourite item of theirs that I’ve made myself is this sweet little skeleton. Although you have to purchase an entire kit, I would say it’s definitely worth it with the incredibly soft texture of the yarn.

Gathered is a great place to find inspiration for any craft project including free patterns. This amigurumi bat is easy to make and, you must agree, super cute!

Lydia Tresselt, AKA lalylala, has an entire book of Beetles, Bugs and Butterflies (UK / USA) as well as an Etsy shop for digital patterns and crochet kits (EU). You can even crochet them in different stages of their life cycle, which is super cool.

While this goat skull crochet pattern, from Deprecat, may be leaning towards the creepier side, it definitely deserves a place on this list. I mean, how awesome is this?

You’ve probably realised by now my love of moths. This make your own moth tutorial, by Greedy For Colour, features both crochet and embroidery, so could be a very interesting project.
Now, go have fun creating!
