I like to incorporate small kawaii items into my life that I use on a regular basis. This doesn’t have to be expensive and you can go a long way with these simple and easy DIYs.
Make faces or cute drawings on ceramics
As this video at TheRobnlaura shows, all you need is a plain mug and some ceramic markers or Sharpies. You can also decorate cups, bowls and even your planters.

In fact most of my planters have got faces (*^_^*)
Add a touch of cuteness to your bag

This is quite simple; you can use cute pins or charms to brighten up your bag. I usually bring my Rilakkuma charm and Sentimental Circus pass case along. You could even make a complete bag yourself! Spoonflower offers many cute fabrics and shows how to make a cute tote bag out of them.
Use cute stationery at school or work
Even if your DIY skills aren’t that great, I’m sure that you can make this kawaii Pineapple no sew pouch by D.I.yay! You can also have a look at the simple DIY stationery projects that we’ve featured on SCK before.
You can find affordable cute stationery in shops such as Paperchase, Hema, Flying Tiger and maybe even in your local office supplies shop. I enjoy using cute memo-pads and pencils throughout the day. When someone asks me for a pen, it usually comes with a cute character on it ;)
Decorate notebooks or files with cute images

If you have a planner, notebook or file that you use regularly, it can be nice to add a touch of kawaii to it. I’ve attached a clear pocket to my boring work file, which holds a cute card from Studio Inktvis (EU).
Make your own kawaii self-care products
KawaiiSweetWorld has got some nice recipes to make your own kawaii soap or bath bombs. And if you are more of a liquid soap kind of person, you could store it into a cute dispenser.

Natasja is currently taking a break from writing, as she’s got to prioritize family and work. But she does miss SCK and its readers, once things settle down, she’ll be back to write occasional posts.
