One of my absolute favourite Japanese kawaii merchants is Aranzi Aronzo. They’ve managed to capture the whole Japanese thing of cute stuff that is somehow also a bit…wrong. Sure, you have cute bunnies eating strawberries but there’s also Serious Monkey, Kidnapper and BAD GUY.
Aranzi Aronzo is the work of two sisters (who pretend to be two old men, Aranzi and Aronzo) whose characters adorn several million different products from stationery and accessories to homewares and baby clothes. They also have a range of awesome craft books and just took orders for customised Aranzi Aronzo folding bicycles! Amazing.
When I was in Tokyo (expect to hear this phrase a lot, sorry!), I made big efforts to get along to the Aranzi Aronzo store in Daikanyama, which was suitably adorable and sucked the money straight out of my purse. Those are some of my purchases above – read about my visit here.
Here are some other cute things available from the online shop. And, yes, they do ship internationally so hide your credit card!
Clockwise from left: Serious Monkey Hot Springs special sticker, “Thank you for the lovely meal” Dish, Panda and Meka-Panda Pin Badges, Ghost fabric, Angry Panda Mat and White Rabbit Denim Coin Purse.
