Character themed desserts are often some of my favourites and are great for themed parties, or to just give your desserts a bit of extra flair. Macarons can be hard to master, but there’s so much versatility that comes with their designs so they can be a lot of fun to bake. There are a huge variety of characters you can pick, so I’ve rounded up a few fan favourites to get you started!
Baymax is one of my favourite Disney characters and luckily these macarons from The Busy Spatula are super simple in their design AND have no food colouring. So if piping isn’t your strongest skill and you don’t want to have to colour your meringues 5 different ways, then these should be fun to try.
A little bit more complicated are these Sailor Moon macarons from Ari Kitchen, although the recipe comes with downloadable templates which are super helpful.
These blueberry Eeyore macarons by The Little Blog of Vegan are absolutely adorable and completely vegan too, using chickpea brine instead of eggs to make the meringues.
Totoro desserts are always a winner and these black sesame and dark chocolate filled Totoro macarons by Sumopocky are no exception.
Fancy filling your macaron with something other than buttercream? Then why not try these macaron ice cream sandwiches from Sanrio made to look like the cute little penguin Tuxedosam. You will need seven different colours of meringue but I think it’s worth it!
I love how this Donald Duck macaron looks a little bit like a Tsum Tsum as his features have been added to a normal round macaron, including his signature sailor hat.
As a huge Star Wars fan, these Grogu macarons from Hungry Little Asian Girl were too cute to pass on. They’re even matcha flavour, which is one of my absolute favourites.
Which character would you most like to recreate?
