If you are looking for something to inspire your art this month, or just want to check out some cool artwork, you’ll love these art challenges. Each one can be followed with any medium, so whether you draw, paint, knit, or anything else, you can join in!
Happy Pride month! Pride Pawrade, which is hosted by lots of kawaii artists, features one prompt a week for five weeks. Each week has an animal prompt, with each animal starting with a letter from the word pride, so this first week is panda! I am planning to join this challenge using amigurumi. If you like creepy cute, then the Haunted Garden challenge is perfect for you. This challenge has a prompt every two days, and includes prompts like ‘fairy door’ and ‘dark moth’. It is hosted by grace.moth and happens annually. Browse the #hauntedgardenartchallenge tag.
Another challenge hosted by lots of kawaii artists is June Bug 23, which is insect themed! This challenge only has four prompts, so you’ll have more time to work on each. Browse the #junebug23 tag.
Juicy June is hosted by lots of children’s books illustrators. Alongside four prompts, it features themed mood boards to help inspire you. I’m especially looking forward to ‘Peachy Dreams’. Browse the #juicyjune2023 tag.
Studio Ghibli Month may be my favourite prompt challenge I’ve ever seen! All the hosts make gorgeous witchy art, which makes my Kiki’s Delivery Service loving heart so happy. There are six prompts, each inspired by Ghibli movies. I want to join this one too! Browse the #ghiblimonth2023 tag.
Please go check out all the artists involved in hosting these events, and support them if you can. Have fun!
