Fashion and clothes show up lots on this blog, but we haven’t given shoes the spotlight in a while. So whether you prefer a glamorous heel or a comfy sneaker, I have a recommendation for you!
Ballet sneakers first showed up just a couple of years ago, in Korea, but they are increasingly popular. There are quite a few options out there now, including these pink ballet sneakers from Lazy Oaf (UK). I have the black version of these and can attest they are super comfy and so cute!
Irregular Choice (UK) continuously proves that shoes can be art. They have all sorts of options available, from cute to outrageous. I can’t stop looking at the Very Versailles heels, which are also available in a darker colourway.
Back in April, Crocs (global) made an appearance at a Simone Rocha fashion show, so maybe they are losing their label as an ‘ugly’ shoe? Either way, you can’t dispute that their Hello Kitty collaboration is so cute! These siren clogs have the most impressive heel, although they aren’t quite as extreme as the infamous Balenciaga Crocs. Please note that collaboration availability can vary across countries.
Koi footwear (UK) is known for vegan footwear, meaning they don’t use real leather. I’m a big fan of their heeled Mary Janes. They have recently released these amazing froggy chunky trainers which are also available in boots form. I am obsessed with the fluffy frog cuff on the boots!
Olivia Rodrigo wore custom Doc Martens created by Katia Scandale at a recent concert, but one of a kind shoes don’t have to just be for pop stars. You can DIY something similar using acrylic paint markers, Doc Martens has a whole page on their website about it.
Did you ever doodle on your sneakers? You can give this technique a cute upgrade using Nova’s post, Cute Shoes Reboot. Do you have a design in mind?
Another DIY idea is hand embroidering on cloth trainers like Converse or Vans. This tutorial from Gathered explains how to do a flower design, but you could do anything!
