Happy birthday to Pompompurin! The pudding pup is riding high this year, as the current holder of the Sanrio Character Ranking trophy, and celebrating his 30th anniversary. I’ve searched up some of the cutest merch around to help remind you why he should keep that top spot.
Good news if you’re a fan of both Pompompurin and Tamagotchi as there’s a limited edition collab version available at Sanrio (US). Not only are there two cute case designs to choose from but your Tamagotchi can dress up in a Pompompurin costume. There’s also 30% off all Pompompurin merch with the code HBD2026-PN.
If you wish Pompompurin could be your friend, how about this talking plush! You will need to understand some basic Japanese but he has over 85 recorded phrases and can talk, chat or sing songs! I love that you also get a removable pudding pouch to hold best friend Muffin. Get it from Oshoppu (UK).
Pompompurin can also be a huggable friend for nap time and sick days as a weighted plush at Warmies (US). I’m not sure I could deal with putting him in the microwave but if you can, you’ll get a comforting warm friend with a calming lavender scent.
The Pitatto Friends are Sanrio’s stand-up plush that you can dress up in various adorable clothing and accessories. ARTBOX (UK) have a Pompompurin plush and a huge range of outfits including this amazing pudding hoodie with Muffin & Scone on top.
BoxLunch (US) have a lot of Pompompurin t-shirts & sweatshirts to choose from, as well as extra-special exclusive clothing. This embroidered cardigan (Sizes 1X-5X) is so kawaii and even has pockets. I don’t have a lot of brown in my wardrobe and I think I need to add some.
Sanrio Japan (JP – requires forwarding service) released a super cute new collection of plush, bags, towels and desk accessories this week that sold out instantly – hopefully we’ll see some of it in international stores soon. This sweet die-cut memo pad is still in stock and you get 3 different designs with space on the back for a message.
If you’re feeling crafty, Plaza Japan (JP) have a very cute Whipple decoden kit that uses fake cream and decorations to make 4 Pompompurin-inspired sweets including charms and a card case. The instructions are in Japanese but there’s plenty of diagrams. You can see how they work in our Whipple reviews from a few years ago.
