There’s always lots going on at Sanrio so here’s a look at the latest news, collabs and collections from Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Kuromi and friends.
It was Cinnamoroll’s birthday last month and as Sanrio’s #1 ranked character he got a few cute collabs, starting with tokidoki (US). The Sweet Treats collection includes all the usual favourites – adorable blind box vinyl figures, lots of fun patterned bags and a few extra bits like pins, tumbler and notebook. I especially like the mini bags, including a very tiny micro backpack that might even fit your plushies.
JapanLA (US) always has the cutest Sanrio collabs and this exclusive Cinnamoroll Ita Duffle Bag is perfect. Not only is the design super kawaii, it has a clear window on one side for all your pins and plushies, and lots of useful features like an adjustable crossbody strap, padded laptop sleeve and metal feet. Hot Topic (US) also have an exclusive pastel Cinnamoroll fashion collection that would match nicely with this.
Easter is coming and Sanrio Japan have made some very colourful plushies for their Spring Rabbit collection, available from resellers like VeryGoods (JP). As well as these four large plush, there’s smaller keychain plush of 8 characters and some pouches and tote bags too.
My Melody has teamed up with Strawberry Shortcake and Sonix for a new collection at Sanrio (US). There’s Apple tech accessories for your iPhone, Airpods and Watch, as well as a Switch case, cosmetic pouch and more.
Kidrobot (US) have a whole load of new Hello Kitty plushies up for pre-order, along with a few of her friends too. My favourites are the Sweet Kaiju monsters, which come in 3 colourful designs themed around candy and fruit. The strawberry one is even scented!
It can be tough if you’re a fan of the less popular Sanrio characters but they do get the occasional colletion ARTBOX (UK) have some new ones for Keroppi (with Pickles the Frog) and Bad Badtz-Maru. They’ve also announced the next theme for the ARTBOX Cafe, a My Melody & Kuromi Tea Shop! Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates on the menu and opening dates.
