There’s a new Gudetama Cafe open now in the US so here’s a look plus some fun Gudetama shopping picks, crafts and freebies.
A brand Gudetama Cafe opened last weekend in Buena Park, California, with super cute decor and lots of Gudetama-themed egg dishes. Seems like it will be permanent so you have time to to plan a visit. They don’t have a website yet but you can check out @thegudetamacafe on Instagram for more details and lots of videos.
Dress for the occasion with this Gudetama crewneck sweater, exclusive to BoxLunch (US). Some sizes are already sold out but it’s still available in sizes S-2X.
The Gudetama x Baggu collab has some really fun and useful bags. This embroidered crescent bag at Sanrio (US) is my favourite and right on trend but you’ll also find a canvas tote, lunch box, laptop sleeve and eco bags at Baggu (US).
ARTBOX (UK) have 2 cute tote bags featuring Gudetama & Shakipiyo from the Netflix show, along with lots more Gudetama stuff.
Cute up your current bag with a plush dangler charm from Hot Topic (US). It’s a blind box so you’ll have to be lucky to get your favourite. It’s annoying that they only have mockup images instead of photos but OhcluckToys has an unboxing video where you can see some of the real plush and they look super cute.
If you prefer a bigger plushie, JapanLA (US) has this fun design from the Gudetama Land collection celebrating the 10th anniversary. I love those egg balloons.
I was surprised to find 2 new Gudetama books out this week. Crafty fans will want to pick up a copy of Gudetama Cross Stitch (UK/US) with 30 patterns by the kawaii artists behind Trellis & Thyme. There’s also Gudetama: You’re Egg-cellent! (UK/US), a book where you fill in the blanks for a personalised gift.
Gudetama is also Friend of the Month at Sanrio so you can download a free printable calendar for May and get a free pin of Gudetama as Hello Kitty when you spend $50 or more in store or online. I’m surprised they haven’t released any new products for the cafe opening but hopefully they’re coming later.
