I Am Acrylic make colourful, fun and quirky jewellery entirely by hand using a fretsaw and upcycled acrylic for unique one of a kind pieces. They’ve been around longer than SCK so it’s about time we gave them the spotlight!
Nature is one of their main themes and you’ll find lots of different birds, animals, flowers and trees available as everything from little brooches to huge statement necklaces, sometimes even with stitched details on top. There’s also more abstract designs that really celebrate acrylic as a material.
What I find most inspiring is their use of upcycled acrylic offcuts, often sourced from small businesses that do laser cutting. This often results in very small batch or unique pieces inspired by the shapes left behind, like these chunky necklaces. They even turned my own ghost offcuts into tiny pots!
Their latest creations even use old information boards donated by the Stonehenge visitor centre, which they’ve been cutting up and assembling into hilarious Random Phrase brooches. These are obviously all one of a kind and sell out instantly so you’ll need to keep an eye out for future batches and fight for one. How many of the above apply to you?
