Here’s our review of the Summer Pusheen Box! It had an Ice Cream theme with fun accessories for the beach and pool.
I was delighted to find this box in my porch as the design is so fun and colourful with sprinkles on top, The vinyl figure matches it exactly with a Pusheen ice cream cone in real life size. After a few gigantic figures it’s nice to have a smaller one again.
There were 7 items in the Summer 2023 Pusheen Box: beach towel poncho, mesh beach tote, visor, pool float, sand coaster, thermal phone case and vinyl figure, all with mint, pink and purple colours. While I was excited to open this, I soon realised it is the absolute worst box for me personally to photograph. As someone who lives in Scotland and hates taking photos of myself, it was extremely difficult to get cute pool/beach photos, plus everything is so big! I’ve picked out a few favourites but sorry this is a bit shorter than usual.
Beach Towel Poncho
Have Pusheen Box been spying on me? They shared this as a spoiler right after I’d been saying I could do with something to throw over my swimsuit after I go swimming as I live so close to the pool. This is a long poncho made of towelling so will absorb water while you chill out or head home. It even has a hood for your wet hair and front pocket.
It’s also very cute in a mint green with embroidered Pusheen ice lolly design and the style is more flattering than you might expect from what is basically a rectangle – here’s what it looks like on a model. It will stand out a bit in my small rural town but I’m still going to use it to save me from changing and showering at the pool.
Mesh Beach Tote
We’ve had a lot of bags over the years but at least they’re always a bit different. This is a mesh tote so it’s easy to see what’s inside when you need your phone or sunscreen. It’s also massive with plenty room for the bulky poncho, pool float etc. You could definitely fit all your swimming things, plus drinks, snacks and a book in here. It’s a cute design but I’m not sure I’ll get much use out of it myself, especially since the shoulder straps are quite thin so it wouldn’t be very comfortable with anything heavy.
Thermal Phone Case
Are thermal phone cases a thing? I hadn’t come across one before but it does seem like a good idea with so many heatwaves. Your phone can overheat quite quickly but the reflective material inside should help prevent that. I wonder if it would also stop frozen treats from melting too quickly? I should try it with the ice pack from last summer’s box!
Even if you don’t live somewhere that hot, it’s still a very kawaii pouch and has 2 split rings so you can attach it to your bag or belt and stop things falling out. I’m sure it would come in handy for travel and you could use it for sunglasses too.
I wish I could have got some photos of the sand coaster in use as it’s such a fun idea and I’d like to see how well it works. It’s designed to sit firmly in sand so your drink will stay upright and sand-free. My local beach is very pebbly and covered in seaweed so not really ideal for testing. I also liked the visor with its sleepy Pusheen cone design and it adjusts enough to fit my small head so I might be wearing it on holiday. The pool float is so massive I couldn’t even begin to blow it up, not that I’d ever have any opportunity to use it. It does look amazing though.
So, overall this is full of cute high quality useful items for summer holidays. It’s just not a good box for me and I would probably have skipped it if I was a paying subscriber. I do really like the poncho, visor and vinyl figure and if I lived somewhere warmer I would love to use everything.
