I hope you’re still feeling a bit spooky as here’s our slightly late review of the Fall Pusheen Box! It had a Vampurr theme with lots of scary-but-cute treats for Halloween.
While this box got a bit delayed (after arriving in the UK), at least it was delivered on Halloween to make my day even more fun! The box design was really cute in a light purple with fang-tastic Vampurr face. Great to see a more classic style vinyl figure too – I love her cape and dripping donut.
There were 8 items in the Fall 2022 Pusheen Box: bat-wing cape, tote bag, glass goblet, trinket dish, bullet journal, planner stickers, bookmark and vinyl figure. Let’s have a closer look.
This is the most hilarious thing and I love it. It’s a big fleecy wearable blanket with a Vampurr Pusheen hood -complete with purple satin lining. It also has hidden elastic loops for your wrists so you can make bat wings with the scalloped hem.
Given the short turnaround of this review (and the gloomy weather), I borrowed a photo from the Pusheen Box Instagram so you can see how it looks when worn.
Amazing, right? Am I going to swan around my flat in a Vampurr cape? Mayyybe. But even if not, it’s fun to have around for an easy costume and I can imagine it being a great extra layer for winter craft markets, whenever I get to do those again. This is 100% the type of item I love to see in a subscription box.
Goblet & Trinket Tray
This is also perfect for the theme and something I would never think to buy. I certainly felt very fancy drinking my fruit juice out of this. Despite being made of glass, it feels very solid and heavy so I”ll be happy to keep using this without worrying too much about damaging it.
The trinket tray is meant for things like jewellery, coins, paper clips etc. but it’s made of a washable plastic so also works as a tiny snack dish. It’s not super exciting but nice for an extra little Halloween decoration.
Bullet Journal, Stickers & Bookmark
As a huge stationery fan, I was delighted to see these. The bullet journal could have easily been a cheap filler item but it has so many nice details – fabric cover, foil stamping, ribbon bookmark, illustrated pages and even a little pocket at the back to store your stickers. The paper isn’t the thickest but that’s quite normal for bullet journals and it should be fine for layouts. Maybe I will be inspired to start journaling again in 2023?
The stickers are also very cute with lots of different designs, and 2 sheets if you want to use one and keep one. The bookmark isn’t especially notable but I always need more and it’s cute to see Pusheen glowering up from inside.
It’s hard to feel anything much about tote bags these days! They’re always useful but we all have piles of them so they need something extra to stand out. The Vampurr design is at least extremely kawaii and it’s a good quality strong bag that can hold a lot inside. However, it doesn’t come with a pouch or fold up strap or anything to make it easier to pop in your bag so unlikely to become my new favourite.
This was such a fun box, especially as I’ve been obsessed with Dracula Daily for much of the year. Obviously this theme was planned long before but the timing worked out perfectly. While I often judge these boxes on how useful the items are, I really appreciate how ridiculous and over the top the cape and goblet are while still not being throwaway plastic rubbish. I’m sure I’ll pull out the goblet whenever I have a special drink and the cape is just cool to own. The stationery items make a really cute set and it’s something I’ll enjoy using all year. I think I’ll be keeping everything but the trinket tray, which is rare for me with these boxes.
