Now that many of us are able to go out again, maybe you need a new bag/purse? If you want to keep things kawaii, here’s some options featuring our favourite cute characters.
We usually try to keep things affordable on SCK but I’m going to start with a couple of pricey options if you’ve got money to splurge. The new Strathberry x Miffy collaboration (UK) is so beautiful and includes a few different colourful designs on wallets, handbags and totes.
If you’re a Pokemon fan, Samantha Vega (Japan) has a very cute Pokemon collection launching soon. There’s lots to choose from with Pikachu, Eevee, Gengar, Snorlax, Mew and Team Rocket all featured. As well as bags and wallets, there’s some cheaper items like pass cases, phone cases and charms. If you want to order, I’d recommend getting set up with a forwarding service like Tenso as they don’t ship overseas.
The official Studio Ghibli store, Donguri Kyowakoku (Japan), has so many cute bags that it was hard to choose just one. Animal Crossing has made me interested in the idea of pochettes (tiny bags) and this little Totoro bag is so sweet. I love the bright yellow and it’s even got a soot sprite lining inside with enough room for all your essentials. They don’t ship overseas but you can order through Amazon Japan (in English, including import fee pre-payment). Marushin also have a big selection.
Much more affordable is this super cute new Pusheen tote bag from The Pusheen Shop (USA). It’s such a fun design that it would even make me look forward to running errands.
ARTBOX (UK) have some very kawaii Sanrio Originals bags from Japan with lots of different styles and sizes at reasonable prices. I was happy to see Badtz-Maru and this faux leather tote bag includes an ita bag style clear window plus a matching pouch.
I had to include these Sumikko Gurashi mesh bags even though most of the characters sold out instantly. It’s such a cool idea for summer and I especially like the long gym bag style. Hopefully San-X (Japan) will restock or you might find them on Ebay or other stockists soon.
