While browsing on Amazon, I noticed some new books from kawaii makers and bakers that are well worth adding to your wish list. I’ve included UK links but all these books are on international Amazon sites too.
Already just released is Gingermelon’s Embroidered Animals: Heirloom animal dolls to sew, embellish and treasure. It’s a follow-up to Shelly’s book on felt dolls and looks even cuter. It shows you how to make a basic doll and then you can embellish it into 11 different animals, from a bunny to a unicorn, plus adorable little accessories.
We’re fans of the Kawaii Sweet World YouTube channel and now there’s a book too. The Kawaii Sweet World Cookbook promises 75 yummy recipes including Narwhal Cake Pops, Pig Cream Puffs, and Koala Cupcakes! You can pre-order now and it will be published on July 30th.
Another fun book of treats we’re looking forward to is Baking with Kim-Joy, published on August 22nd. I loved her whimsical bakes on The Great British Bake Off and this looks to be such a fun book. It includes 40 imaginative recipes including llama cookies, cat paradise cake and choux-bun turtles!
Angela Nguyen (aka pikarar) has a new addition to her kawaii drawing book series, featuring one of our favourite subjects. How to Draw Really Cute Food will teach you to draw some super cute food-creature fusions so you get the best of both worlds. Out September 30th.
