There’s few things I enjoy more than discovering a cute new artist and getting to catch up on all their work. I recently found pikaole (AKA South Korean illustrator Danbee Kim) whose art has cute nature and marine themes.

The first piece I saw was this Lucky Snail in a bed of clover and it’s still one of my favourites.

There are lots and lots of sea creatures, especially ones that don’t usually feature in kawaii art. Who knew zooplankton could be so cute?

I always love food/animal hybrids, though I’m not sure I’d want to try a mollusk cocktail in real life.

Maybe a cookies and cream penguin set instead?

Some of the designs also end up as themes for Samsung phones and the latest features some very cute garden eels.
You can buy all of pikaole’s illustrations as prints, mugs, phone cases and more from Redbubble. I also recommend their Patreon where you get access to work in progress posts to see how the illustrations come to life.
