If you’re in the UK this summer there are some super kawaii events coming up in London! And if you can’t make it in person, we’ll be covering all the cuteness here on SCK.
MCM London Comic Con
This huge pop culture event takes place next weekend with everything from TV & movie stars to cosplay and comics. Kawaii fans need to check out the PopAsia area, full of cute shopping, fashion and food, while Nintendo will be showing off some recent releases. Nicolette will be covering the event for SCK so keep an eye on our Instagram for live updates.
Almost certainly the most kawaii event in Europe, Hyper Japan focuses on all things cute and Japanese. I’m going to the summer event in July for the first time and I’m so excited! It’s a chance to shop with all the best kawaii brands, watch Japanese musicians and dancers, play some games and take some fun classes (like learning to make cute curry rice!). Details on all performers are still being released but the exhibitor list is available and my wallet is going to take a real beating.
The Powerpuff Emporium
And I had to include this as it’s so kawaii! If you happen to be in London during 1-3 June, you can visit this amazing pop up shop dedicated to everyone’s favourite kawaii superheroes, The Powerpuff Girls. As well as things to buy, it will apparently include a make-up and nail bar, a punchbag area, science cafe and snake and rabbit petting! If you go, please send us some photos – even from the outside it looks brilliant.
Are you going to any kawaii events this year?
