Being a kawaii fan doesn’t always mean being bold, colourful and flashy. These jewellery collections feature some of our favourite kawaii characters in a more understated style that you can even wear to the office. Jewellery can be expensive but most of the shops have a range of prices to match most budgets.
The Pokemon Center (UK/US) have an incredible collab collection with BaubleBar that is so fun and colourful, but with pieces small enough to still be low-key. My favourite piece is the Jigglypuff charm bracelet (the matching earrings are very fun too), but how can you not love Snorlax with a belly full of shaker berries? You’ll find a surprising mix of characters so fans of Dragonair, Vulpix and Gengar can get something too, and there’s also higher-end collabs with RockLove and King Ice.
I had to go and check out BaubleBar (US) to see what else they have going on! There’s currently a massive Disney collab that manages to cater to just about every fan. The Mickey Mouse ear designs are a nice subtle touch for any outfit but you can also get pieces for Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars, Winnie the Pooh, Pixar and even personalised options. Licensed to Charm (UK) are another brand that regularly does character collabs and currently have the cutest Miffy jewellery. Everything comes in both gold or silver and includes pendant necklaces, velvet ribbon necklaces, earrings and charm bracelets, plus individual charms to add to an existing bracelet. Moomin and Paddington fans should have a look around too.
It’s not a surprise that there are many many options for Sanrio fans and I couldn’t choose just one. ARTBOX (UK) has a very sweet selection of Sanrio rings and ear cuffs featuring Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, My Melody & Kuromi. The latter two also feature on beautiful Anna Sui charm bracelets and necklaces at VeryGoods (JP).
San-X (JP – requires forwarding service) has quite a big range of classic jewellery including necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and sets in gold, silver and rose gold. Most feature Rilakkuma but there’s quite a lot of Sumiko Gurashi pieces too. I love the idea of Rilakkuma relaxing around my finger.
