Hyper Japan Christmas Market 2015

There’s always lots to enjoy at Hyper Japan and I thought this year’s Christmas Market was one of the best I’d attended.

I’d never been to Tobacco Dock before and it seemed a strange choice for a winter market when it’s partly outdoors. Most of the stalls were set up in different closed off areas of the venue so you could wander between Culture, Fashion & Kawaii and Games & Anime, though each area seemed to have one stall with Alcapassos!

I spent quite a long time in the Fashion & Kawaii area as they had a lot of great stalls including gorgeous acrylic jewellery by Little Moose, cute designs by Baku Forest Studios and adorable illustrations by Hungry Design.

I wandered over to the Culture section and was thrilled to find Domo-kun at the NHK stall posing for photos. Obviously I couldn’t miss this chance to meet Domo and I also received a free printout of the photo and a Domo bag for downloading the NHK app.

Tofu Cute is my favourite shop so I was looking forward to checking out their stall! They had a pretty big area including an Amuse stall with Alcapassos of every size, Loppys, Woolys and hamsters.

Their Candy Festival allowed you to have a taste of different Japanese sweets before buying. Sadly there were no Japanese KitKats left but it was still fun!

Once I was hyped up on sugar, it was time for Ladybaby! I loved the video for ‘Nippon Manju‘ and was really excited to hear they were playing at Hyper Japan. They were pretty much the reason I decided to go this year and they certainly didn’t disappoint! It was a shame Rie couldn’t make it but Rei and Ladybeard put on an amazing performance and completely stole the show.

One last look round the stalls and it was time to leave, my bag now stuffed full with kawaii purchases. I had the best time at Hyper Japan and I’m looking forward to the next event in July.

Highlights: Ladybaby and meeting Domo! See more photos from the day on the SCK Instagram.

Where is that hamster tree decoration in the last picture from? As a lover of all things kawaii, and proud owner of six gorgeous hamsters, I NEEDS IT!!

It was at Tofu Cute but they don’t seem to have it on their website. Maybe email/tweet them to see if they’ll be adding them soon.
