Felt has to be the easiest material to start sewing with – it’s very forgiving and you don’t need a sewing machine. I’ve found some super-cute free plush patterns and tutorials you can try out!
I love this little bumblebee by onifrogbox. It’s not the easiest thing to sew, but there are loads of photos and explanations to keep you right.
Make your own Nyan Cat! This is much easier and you can either stuff it for a toy or leave flat for a patch.
Bugs and Fishes have loads of free tutorials, mostly involving felt and with many great for beginners.
We all love alpacas and Teacup Lion has posted this free pattern for a whole herd of alpaca cream puffs with different colours and faces.
And finally, this Nyan Nyan Nyanko tart plush is amazing and detailed, but you’ll need to have a lot of patience! You can download the free pattern and sew along with the video tutorial.
