Grass-Type Pokemon Buys & DIYs

by

Even though I would usually pick a fire-type as my starter, I do tend to gravitate towards grass-type Pokémon generally and I think they represent this time of year so perfectly. Everything is looking so lush and green at the moment in the UK and I was inspired to find some grass-type Pokémon crafts and shopping picks; here are a few of my finds!

Pokemon jigsaw puzzle

The Pokémon Center (UK/US) has released a grass and fairy-type jigsaw puzzle that includes all the Pokémon that blossom. While you could just get the design as a poster, building the jigsaw and then framing it would be a lot more fun.

Tropius Pokemon merch

The Natural History Museum in London had a pop up shop in collaboration with Pokémon and you can grab a lot of the merchandise in their online shop (UK) now too. They featured a few of our grass-type friends, including the lesser mentioned Tropius. There are a lot of products featuring this large leafy Pokémon, including a pin badge, notebook, tote bag and hoodie.

Pokemon reusable insulated containers

I think my favourite product from the Igloo x Pokémon collab (US) might have to be the Pokéball shaped cooler, but they also have these great reusable insulated containers in the shape of tall cans. This one features all of Bulbasaur’s evolutions, but you can also grab the other Gen 1 starters (and their evolutions) and Pikachu too.

There are some very cute, super fluffy plushies from Sekiguchi on Plaza Japan (JP), featuring Sprigatito, Grooky, and Bulbasaur. So, if you’re after a Pokémon to keep as your very own, then these could be the ones for you.

I love the Eeveelutions and I think that Leafeon might be my second favourite design after Umbreon. If you aren’t able to purchase your own plushie or just want a challenge to make your own, then I’ve got a helpful tutorial and pattern here from Witchcrafty. Then you can have your very own Leafeon to keep you company.

If you wanted a slightly smaller, bag charm size version of Leafeon, then miniddugi has tutorials for the Eeveelutions as amigurumi keychains. Part 1 is a basic Eeveelutions body parts and then there are tutorials for each of them, including Leafeon.

Shaymin Pokemon cake pots

Turning Pokémon into food is so fun to watch and these incredible Shaymin (land form) cake pots make me want to get baking. If the chocolate pots are a bit intimidating, then you could always use another vessel as the important part is the buttercream Pokémon on the top. Miscellaneous Mao has a list of recipes she uses on her website, but the video shows how to construct everything together, so you could just use any recipes that suit you.

I also really want to try my hand at Michelle Meng’s Bulbasaur veggie steamed buns. They look incredible and very tasty too. I enjoy the fact that she has a bit of trial and error with her recipe and goes through any mistakes she’s made so that you don’t make them.

If clay is more your craft medium then Squash Clay has tutorials for an enormous amount of Pokémon on their channel (over 400!). I’ve picked Sprigatito to share, because it’s definitely the starter I’d choose from Gen 9, but you could go through and pick your favourite grass type starter or any other!

Which Pokémon type should I do next?
