I was surprised to realise that we’ve never done a post on Christmas stockings before, probably because I never had one growing up! I do love using them to decorate my mantelpiece though so here’s some kawaii shopping picks and crafts to choose from.
Let’s start with the most kawaii stocking, from Sanrio (US)! Not only does it feature little plushies of Hello Kitty & Friends but they’re all wearing sequin hats for extra sparkle – and it’s got a huge discount at the moment.
These handmade felt stockings by clara & macy (UK) come in a few adorable animal designs, and you can even buy a dress-up set to add bowties, glasses and capes.
H&M (UK/EU) have some sweet animal stockings too with a mouse and fox. Their faces look so soft and I love the stripes.
If you like to keep things spooky all year round, Em & Sprout have you covered with these Spooky Christmas Stockings in 2 colours.
On to DIYs and how beautiful is this wool felt stocking kit by Georgie K Emery for Cloud Craft (UK)? It would make a great gift too for someone crafty to work on over the holidays, ready for next year.
There are thousands of Christmas stocking sewing patterns around but AppleGreen Cottage has a free pattern and tutorial that only uses 2 fat quarters and is reversible too. It’s not too tricky either so pick up some holiday fabric and you can whip some up before Santa gets here.
Gingerbread is a classic holiday theme and Golden Lucy Crafts has a fun Gingerbread Christmas Stocking crochet pattern. The pattern is free, but you can also buy a formatted PDF version from their Etsy shop if you prefer, along with some matching ornaments.
These cute felt stocking sewing patterns by HelloFelt are ornament size but you could easily scale up the template for a larger stocking.
And if you’ve already got your stockings, look out for some stocking filler ideas soon. What do you like to put in yours?
