Cat cafes are really big in Japan and over the years have been branching out to other parts of the world. One busy Caturday my boyfriend and I decided to relax and spend some quality time with the current cats at Cat Town Cafe in Oakland, CA.
While waiting for a spot to open up in the cat area you can grab a snack or peruse the gifts in the café area.
From cat shaped cookies and vegan brownies to art work and cute pillows, you will find something purrfect for your needs.
Once inside the kitty room you are greeted by a number of kitties (when we visited there were 19) and plenty of ways to interact with them or just sit and watch them play. From perches to art work the space is airy but cozy and lets you interact with cats and cat lover alike!
If you are looking to adopt a kitty – good news – all the kitties are up for adoption at Cat Town and looking for their forever home. Cat Town has a really good record with finding cats homes!
Cat Town is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Walk-ins are $5 – however to guarantee a spot a $10 reservation is a good idea. Cat Town is located in Oakland CA at 2869 Broadway with metered parking on the street.
