Kawaii Links & Videos Roundup

Did you know we have a free weekly newsletter? You also get a monthly roundup of cute links and videos we’ve saved including character cafes, collabs, crafts and Japan. We’re sharing the links section and a couple of videos here on the blog, though subscribers always get them first, plus lots more videos too.

• Pokemon and the European Space Agency have shared images of their upcoming collection (available globally) and it is extremely cute. I need the Pikachu flight suit plush to go with my JAXA Rilakkuma. There’s also a Pokémon Space Trail at the Science Museum in London with a ticketed shop.
• Pokemon also have a new collab with Starbucks Japan that includes themed drinks and a lot of cute merch. I love the travel water bottle with Pokeball lid.
• Hotel New Otani in Osaka has a special Pompompurin sweets buffet to celebrate his 30th anniversary. I love a buffet so you get to try everything – definitely one to look out for if you’re in Japan before the end of November.
• Cakes with Faces’ guide to Pop-up Theme Cafes in Japan has loads more to choose from, including Sanrio, San-X, Esther Bunny, Katamari Damacy & Chiikawa.
• Tickets are available now for The Heroes of Townsville, a one-night-only fundraiser and celebration of The Powerpuff Girls in Los Angeles on November 7th. It will have the original cast, special guests, a live performance by theme tune band bis, an animated short, and more. I wish I could go!
• Pusheen’s Place is the first officially licensed Pusheen game, available to play now on Apple Arcade. I haven’t had a chance to play yet but it looks very kawaii. Also if you haven’t played Fields of Mistria yet, the team behind it includes Pusheen’s creators Claire & Andrew!
• Bookmarked have added more free patterns and tutorials from the publisher’s art and craft books including doodles, hand-lettering, knitting and embroidery.
• Sew Desu Ne? creates regular Free Pattern Friday plush patterns – check out the new Mothman plush designs, plus there’s a Halloween sale on paid patterns.
• October is big month for art prompts and challenges – you can check out artists we follow on Bluesky for some of my favourites including Shelly/inki-drop (smoltober), milkbun (Roundtober) and Mochiwei (Linktober). SCK’s Allison is sharing some more too.
• Vegan Dollhouse has a comprehensive guide to vegan Halloween candy including brands, shopping links and recipes.
• Kuromi is Friend of the Month at Sanrio – download your free printable calendar and look out for some special content on their YouTube and socials.
• Jellycat’s new releases and coming soon pages have some very fun new designs. I especially love the birthday cake bag, s’mores and pinecone wreath.
• The Comedy Wildlife Awards are always hilarious – check out this year’s gallery.
• If you missed any of our SCK Team Q&As, you can catch up on the blog. Emma, Andy, Gabriel & Allison are all there with Nicolette coming up next. Got a question for me as SCK co-founder/editor? Leave it as a comment here and I’ll answer it in mine.
• New to our blog or not checked in for a while? The Best of Super Cute Kawaii is updated every month and collects our top posts including the most popular, our own favourites and original guides & DIYs.

Get a look at ANA’s new Pokémon Jet Green airplane! You’ll have to skip past a lot of corporate sections but you eventually see inside the plane and there’s a dance number with a huge cast of grass Pokémon.

Full episodes of the Chiikawa anime will be available in English on the official Chiikawa channel. Episode 1 is up now and there will presumably be a new one every week.
