While we all love to treat ourselves during hot weather, it’s just as fun to craft your favourite sweet treats and drinks. I’ve searched up some kawaii tutorials, patterns and kits with crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, origami and more.

Let’s start with origami as Chisshy Origami has tutorials for the cutest Pudding à la Mode and Parfait Candy Holder. You can customise these with your favourite colours and toppings, plus there’s loads of hanging animals to add in too.
For something simpler, tatsukuriorigami shows you how to make origami ice pops. These are easy enough that you can make enough for a garland or to share with friends. You can also choose colours that match your favourite flavour or even add toppings with patterned paper, pens or stickers. I also have to mention the origami crab tutorial as they can hold this ice pop in their claws! I made one for Father’s Day.

Kediro Shop has too many adorable crochet patterns that mash up animals with desserts but the ice cream animals must be my favourite. There’s 6 different animal flavours that you can buy individually or as a bundle.

curiouspapaya’s ice cream crochet pattern is more beginner-friendly but still includes 6 different flavours and toppings to match your IRL order. I love their faces too.
For something a bit different, Mongleinae Crochet has a tutorial for a Crochet Water Bottle Holder that looks like a cream soda, including a melon soda variation. It also doubles as a bag charm when not in use.

Stitch up a frosty sour lemonade, refreshing mint-y mojito and crisp iced tea with this kawaii Drinks All Around cross stitch pattern from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. It’s available as both a digital download and printed pattern (US).

This Sweet Summer embroidery pattern from EmBeaRoidery has so many sweet treats to stitch. It’s suitable for beginners and will let you practice lots of different stitches. You can choose from a full kit, printed pattern or digital download and even choose your preferred transfer method. The listing has all the info to help you decide if you’re not sure.

If you miss the ice cream van making its rounds, Robotime (global) have a wooden puzzle kit for Beverly’s Ice Cream Truck. It’s full of tiny treats and cute details, and even has lights. It’s one of their easier kits, so most people will manage to complete this and there’s also the Sweet Scoopery Ice Cream Story Frame that I made recently. Don’t forget, SCK readers get 10% off any order with the code supercutekawaii.
