Bag charms are all the craze at the moment, but there’s another way to represent your favourite character that’s also increased in popularity – wearable plushies. Think magnetic shoulder pals and cuffs. They are not only great for showing off your fandoms, but actually for enhancing outfits, Disneybounds and costumes. With Halloween coming up, these could be a great alternative to wearing a full costume or to just make it clearer who you are portraying. The shoulder pals are much easier to get hold of inside of theme parks, but here are some I found in stock online.

The Nightmare Before Christmas has a lot of merchandise out at the moment and this Zero shoulder pal at the Disney Store (US) has to be one of my favourites, because it actually has a glowing option. You could dress all in white as Zero himself or even add it to a pin-striped Jack Skellington outfit.

The Pokemon Center (UK/US) has introduced their own shoulder plush, which is designed to be wrapped around the straps of a backpack. As it wraps, you could also attach it to your wrist or hairband too, but there’s something so perfect about wearing Pikachu on your shoulder just like Ash Ketchum.

Similarly to the Pokemon ones, Cutie Cuffs from Bullsitoy are a wrap around type shoulder pal for bags or wrists. They represent a huge variety of fandoms from Disney to Hello Kitty, but my favourite collection has to be Star Wars, in stock at Walmart (US). They come in a blind box style, so you don’t know which character you’ll get, but they’re always fun to collect. I would love to have Wicket the Ewok though.

Hamleys (UK) have a couple of Disney magnetic shoulder pals and with the Lilo and Stitch movie having come out this year, his character will be extremely popular to dress up as. This would be an amazing addition to not just a Stitch related outfit, but also a Lilo one too.

While it’s not necessarily a well-known character, unless you’ve ridden Haunted Mansion, I think this raven shoulder pal at the Disney Store (UK) is an amazing choice for Halloween. The raven’s eyes light up, so it would be the spookiest complement to a number of different outfits.

If you can’t get hold of a shoulder pal, there is another way to add to your outfit; through plush bags. I’m not sure that one could be more perfect for holding your Halloween trick-or-treat sweets than this Kirby bag from Tofu Cute with an open mouth! (UK)

Tokyo Disney is also very famous for its plush character bags and I think Marie from the Aristocats is one of the most popular characters out there. This plush bag (JP – requires forwarding service) might not hold as many sweets as Kirby, but it would be perfect to help out with a simple white cat costume. (If you did want one to hold your sweet stash, then they also have a non-plush eco tote to match the character too)
