Flowers are typically a Spring theme but there’s lots that don’t even bloom until Summer, so I thought it’d be nice to recognize those, as well as birth month blossoms for the season. Here are some delightful DIYs and crafts featuring Summer flowers.

I feel like sunflowers are the quintessential flower of Summer. Robotime wooden puzzle kits are an activity and permanent beautiful display piece in one. You can buy a bouquet set or individual flowers from lots of sellers including Hands Craft (US).

I never really thought of roses as Summer flowers but they’re actually the birth month flower for June. Botanical Paperworks has instructions for seed paper roses, which I thought looked unique and pretty. I wasn’t sure what the paper used for this craft was, and it turns out that it’s a special biodegradable and eco-friendly paper embedded with wildflower seeds, which you can plant. How cool! You can buy the paper from the Botanical Paperworks shop (CAN) in a rainbow of colours.

I found a lot of flower crafts using crepe paper and it results in a really nice effect for a water lily (the birth month flower for July), as shown by Ash and Crafts. You could use the crepe paper to make a lily pad leaf as well.

You can also use faux foliage to make a fun flower crown with One Little Project’s tutorial – perfect for Summer festival and faire season.

Bloomy Concept (EU) has this lovely DIY dried flowers kit to craft a wreath. You can choose the diameter and color of the hoop and get creative with your own design.

Craftaholics Anonymous shows you how to make a Summer Fiesta Wreath using a sign and silk flowers from Michaels. This was published a while ago, but I’m sure you could find a good substitute of summer selections at your local craft store to make your own version. The author used summery Hibiscus flowers for hers.
