There’s something magical about autumn, and something special about the scents of the season. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect fall fragrance, so I have some reviews to share with you, along with some I haven’t tried (yet) with the cutest packaging.

I got a Pick Sample Perfumes set in amber glass roller bottles from The Little Book Eater (US) (I absolutely love their name!). I picked out Apple Harvest, Autumn Aesthetic, and Fall Festival.

Apple Harvest is a sugared macintosh apple, cider, cinnamon, clove, cream cheese frosting, goji berry, and ginger root scent. To me this leans very cinnamon and clove with apple underneath. It’s more spicy and warm than fruity to me.

Autumn Aesthetic has buttered pumpkin, crushed pecans, and maple syrup. This one is very sweet, but I love sweet and gourmand fragrances. Honestly, this initially smelled exactly like Captain Crunch cereal to me! I think that’s the butter and maple. I get a slight pumpkin, but I think the sweet scents just overpower the pumpkin and pecan.

Fall Festival is described as apple cider, cinnamon, fried donut, sugar, citrus, and a hint of hay. Described as sweet, spicy, and earthy, I get cinnamon and the earthy scent, possibly the hint of hay takes over.

Haus of Gloi (US) has Fall perfume oil sampler sets in Apples & Pumpkins, Haus Classics, Scarecrow’s Picnic, and Witch’s Cottage. I went with Apples & Pumpkins which includes Apple Milk, Cozy Apple, Cozy Pumpkin, and Pumpkin Eater.
Apple Milk has apple pulp, hot milk, and cardamom. This comes off as straight cardamom to me, with maybe a slight undertone of apple, but the cardamom is very strong.
Cozy Apple is their Cozy Sweater fragrance which is gentle skin musk, faded perfume, Egyptian amber, nag champa, incense, and aged vanilla, blended with crisp, red apple. I don’t smell any apple in this one. I think the predominant scent is the nag champa, which I believe is similar to patchouli, but it could also be the incense and faded perfume, and possibly skin musk.

Cozy Pumpkin is Cozy Sweater with fresh pumpkin. I can smell the pumpkin in this one with musk, amber, and incense. I liked it more than Cozy Apple.
Pumpkin Eater has oat milk, pumpkin pulp, vanilla bean, and a touch of nutmeg butter. This is the sweetest fragrance of the four so it was my favorite, with the nutmeg coming through the strongest, but I could still smell the other sweet notes.

I also purchased an individual sample of Autumn Bouquet and a free sample was included, which was Strawberry Angel Food Cake. Autumn Bouquet has sunflowers, chrysanthemum, hypericum berries, musk, vanilla, and sandalwood. When I first put this on I got flowers and berries, but it dries down to a more bright, powdery, floral.
Strawberry Angel Food Cake is pretty straightforward, at first smelling just like fresh strawberries and then settling down with a sweet scent.
Now here are some fragrances I hope to try and with cute labels.

Sugar Milk Co. (US) has a kawaii gingerbread person as their mascot and a great fall collection. The lineup includes Candy Apples, Toasted Marshmallows, Apple Cider Donuts, Cinnamon Vanilla Cookies, and Salted Caramel. You can get them in a full size (1.7 oz) spray bottle or a roll on.

Marshmallow & Gingerbread sounds like the yummiest combo and Willows Charms (UK) has an eau de parfum of exactly that. It has notes of warm freshly baked gingerbread biscuits, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla marshmallow fluff, and a creamy sugary sweetness. Available in 5, 30, 50, or 100 ml with a cute little gingerbread house on the bottle.

Say “Hello, Fall!” with Egretta Canada’s (CAN) vegan perfume of pumpkin, cinnamon, green apple, and cold forest leaves. With an owl adorning a 5, 10, or 30 ml bottle of your choice.
