I was back at MCM Comic Con last month and as per usual I spent a large percentage of my time wandering Artist Alley and I found a lot of wonderful artists that I think you’ll love too. All of them have their own original art and characters as well as some pieces inspired by various fandoms.
Just to note, all the artists are UK-based and not all have their shops open at the moment, but keep up to date on their social media for their next openings. I also shared a lot of great artists in a couple of my previous convention posts, so make sure to check those out as I won’t be mentioning those same ones here.
Kavon Doodles
I was drawn to Kavon Doodles stand by her cute shiba dog stickers (the no-face one was a fave), but she also had an amazing selection of prints of magical looking girlies surrounded by planets or toadstools, or even as mermaids. Shop | Instagram
Rhienon
Rhien has an amazing ability to draw women in the most beautiful way. I fell in love with so many of her gorgeous pieces and I’m definitely going to have to order some to put up in my office. The girls with honeycomb, a citrus tree, dango, koi and a cat (very ‘The Cat Returns’ vibes) were some of my favourites. Shop | Instagram
Rorobun
Rorobun was on my radar for her lovely piece of Pokemon art that just encapsulated the end of Ash and Pikachu’s journey. However, I ended up loving a lot of her other work too, like her ‘bunny in a teacup’ keyring and her Eevee Evolutions botanical prints. I know some of you will leap at her mushroom drawings though. Juwei
While Ju does gorgeous art inspired by the characters from Genshin and anime (I immediately purchased her Tomioka Giyu), her original pieces are so etherial and beautiful. I adore how she includes clouds and sky in the background of a lot of her drawings as it gives the subjects such a dreamlike appearance. Shop | Instagram
Tony Moy
I actually discovered Tony Moy at last year’s MCM, when I watched him paint in a watercolour panel. I followed him immediately on social media and I was so happy to see him back in London and be able to have a look through some of his work in person. The way he layers watercolours is pretty magical and I am constantly amazed at his pieces (I picked up his Endor print). He also illustrates a watercolour comic called The 4Forty2nd about the Japanese American soldiers who fought in WWII, and it’s absolutely stunning. Shop | Instagram
Gigi Illustrates
Georgina has a way with drawing flowers and her pieces are just full of them. Whether that’s her beautiful wildlife drawings or her Pokemon and Ghibli inspired works, they are always surrounded by petals. Her style is very unique and memorable and I’d absolutely love to have a collection of them at home. Shop | Instagram
