Happy New Year! As always, we’re starting things off with some cute 2023 printable calendars to keep you organised this year. Choose from these kawaii options for your desk, wall or journal, including some DIYs and free downloads. (Unfortunately, I am starting the year with a minor health issue so probably won’t manage to get a full week of posts scheduled, apologies!)
Sanrio will be continuing their Friend of the Month feature throughout 2023, which includes a free printable calendar. This month features My Melody in a strawberry outfit, ready for her birthday on the 18th, and also includes some fun days to celebrate.
tokidoki are also continuing to add free calendars for 2023, starting with a new year celebration party for January. These include US holidays and fun theme days, plus a mini calendar for the following month.
The Cottage Market have so many free printable calendars to choose from with animals, dinosaurs and fandom characters.
Etsy is well worth a browse for cute and affordable kawaii printable calendars and many are discounted just now. Happy Bunnies has a few cute designs to choose from, including caticorns and boba, but I like this colourful cupcakes calendar.
Milkkoyo has a Mini Calendar that’s perfect for journals and features happy food and pastel colours.
There’s also a food and drink theme for my own printable calendar this year to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Asking For Trouble, with plenty of space for events and notes. You can also join my mailing list to get free wallpapers with these designs throughout the year.
If you don’t mind doing a little bit of work, there are even more cute calendars out there where you add the dates yourself or even have some space for your own art. Try search terms like open calendar and blank calendar to find something to suit, or just pick up this sweet strawberry calendar from Laura Gonfer Studio.
Draw So Cute has updated her mini desk calendar for 2023 and it includes free templates for you to colour in and assemble.
It’s a bit more effort, but why not make a tea towel calendar for the kitchen? Spoonflower run an annual contest that always inspires lots of beautiful designs and it’s a very simple and quick DIY for anyone with a sewing machine. If you can’t manage that, Spoonflower (US) will do the work for you and let you buy a finished tea towel or wall hanging.
If your new year resolutions include supporting your favourite kawaii artists financially, Patreon and Ko-Fi are great places to search and creators often include printable or wallpaper calendars as a reward. A few that usually do are Little Miss Paintbrush (above), pikaole and Wild Olive.
