2022 might seem far away at the moment but it will be here before we know it, and it’s best to order your new calendar early if you want it to arrive in time for January. These are some of the cutest and most unique 2022 calendars around so you’re going to have a tough time picking just one – luckily they also make great gifts. If you see a calendar you like, click through to see all the pages.
I’m not going to include a lot of big name kawaii character calendars but I have to show you these tiger-themed Sumikko Gurashi and Rilakkuma wall calendars at Cuteness (EU) that even come with a sheet of stickers. Cuteness also has desk calendars and planners with some Sanrio options too. If you’re a fan of a different kawaii character, Japanese mascot or anime, have a browse around A Cute Shop (TW), CDJapan (JP) or Amazon (US/UK/JP).
I already have my calendar but if I needed another, I’d definitely go for the 2022 Bunny Calendar from Will Quinn Art (US), who you might know from his adorable Daily Bunny drawings on Instagram. There’s a few heavily discounted calendars available too, if you don’t mind a little damage.
I also love the illustration style of this A Year in the Life of Dinosaurs 2022 wall calendar by Wren & Wilson (UK). There’s a seasonally-appropriate illustration for each month, with the dinosaurs getting up to all kinds of adventures.
More of a tortoise fan? Neil Slorance (UK) hosted a Tortober drawing challenge last month and has turned 12 of his own digital paintings into a wall calendar that any tortoise owner would love to have on display.
If you can’t choose a favourite animal, the 2022 calendar from ilariapops (EU) features all their original characters – a cat, frog, bear, snail and bee.
Or how about a calendar full of crochet animals? These are the Poppeteers (EU) and each month has a few of the toys photographed in miniature rooms and out in the world.
For something a bit different, I always love these animal shaped desk calendars from Japanese brand Greeting Life. They started out with various breeds of cats and dogs but now you can get all kinds of animals including pandas, tigers and hedgehogs! Omoi Zakka Shop (US) and Japan Wave (US) both have a good selection.
I’m also very intrigued by these Himekuri sticky calendars, a desk calendar of 365 illustrated sticky notes. You can peel off a note every day to reveal another illustration and then use it as a bookmark or planner decoration. The cats is obviously the cutest theme but there’s also stationery, sweets and nature. Cute Things From Japan (JP) and JetPens (US) both have the full range.
If you use a planner or journal to keep organised, then a set of postcard calendars can be a cute way to see each month at a glance. Miapear (CAN) has a fun 2022 animal calendar set that you can also use as a desk calendar or display on a pinboard or fridge.
Or if you’re a fan of the colourful illustration style of Korean brands, Goshen Art Shop (CN) has an extremely cute selection of desk calendars at very affordable prices.
If you prefer a printable calendar, look out for my annual round-up in early January – or you can check through my previous posts as many of the designs featured will have been updated for 2022.
