We have some very sad news to share, for those of you who haven’t already heard: kawaii artist KiraKira Doodles recently passed away after a long illness.
If you’ve been reading Super Cute Kawaii for any length of time you’re sure to have come across Kira’s cute characters and patterns as we’ve featured her regularly since 2014. I was especially a fan of her adorable ghost Spooky McCute but also loved her colouring books and doodle videos. Many of you will have met her at conventions too or interacted on social media & Youtube – I never got to meet Kira in person but we swapped mail a few times and she was always so kind and generous.
Kira really made the world a happier place with her cute art and it’s lovely to see all the tributes on Instagram. The hashtag is #ForKiraKira if you’d like to share your own.
The KiraKira Doodles shop is remaining open for now with the current stocks of stickers, plush, colouring books and more. You can also find her designs on Redbubble.
Much love and sympathies to Kira’s family and friends from everyone here at SCK.
