It’s not even 2 months since I last shared a round up of Sanrio news but there’s so many cute new collections and collaborations that I have to do it again!
60th Anniversary Collection
It’s Sanrio’s 60th anniversary this year and the characters are going back to their roots with a new collection at Sanrio USA (US/Canada shipping only) celebrating their Japanese heritage. As well as using traditional Japanese patterns and design elements for new plush, stationery and accessories, you’ll also find cute fans and tabi socks. Gudetama in a bacon kimono is a real look!
Sanrio x Mai
Sanrio Europe (EU/UK shipping only) have quietly been working with lots of smaller artists and designers for limited edition collaborations and the latest is with Mai by Marzia. The ceramics are especially adorable but there’s also more affordable stickers and enamel pins.
Naruto Shippuden x Hello Kitty And Friends
If you’re a fan of both Naruto and Sanrio, then good news! – Hot Topic (USA – ships worldwide) has a new collection with t-shirts, skirts, bags and more. There’s also lots more fun collaborations at that link including My Hero Academia and Cup Noodle!
Gudetama x ARTBOX Cafe
The Gudetama x ARTBOX Cafe in Brighton has gone spooky for Halloween with new dishes and decor. If you can’t make it in person, you can still buy the new Halloween Gudetama pins with glow in the dark eggs! ARTBOX (UK – ships worldwide) have also been adding lots of new Sanrio Japan items including Halloween stuff so go have a look.
Hello Kitty Pumpkin Spice
Hello Kitty always keeps up with trends so a Pumpkin Spice collection was inevitable. It’s with Loungefly (USA – stockists worldwide) so includes some very cute bags and wallets. The latte cup bag is too sweet. This collection isn’t available quite yet so follow them on social media for the launch details – or check out all the other Sanrio character bags.
