The recent hot weather had me back on my search for a cute summer hat. I’m not good in the heat so a hat is great for preventing sunstroke, keeping my nose from getting sunburnt and for those unexpected rain showers too.
I’d been looking unsuccessfully since last summer but once Pony People released these pink forget-me-not cat caps I snapped one up immediately. It’s just as cute in person with kawaii embroidery and is the sweetest shade of pink. I have quite a small head, but these caps have adjustable velcro fastening that makes it work for most sizes.
I also love these ramen bunny snapback hats by Yoyo The Ricecorpse. It has such a cute face and would add a kawaii touch to any summer outfit. The only problem is whether you can look even half as cute in it as this bunny!
If a straw hat is more your style, how can you resist one with cat ears! You can find these in a few stores online with lots of different colours to choose from.
Tokyo Otaku Mode stocks lots of Japanese fashion brands including 6%DOKIDOKI, Swankiss and Liz Lisa. This Swankiss cherry picnic hat has some pretty summer details and comes in two colours.
If you’d rather save your money for a summer holiday, you can customise any cheap straw hat. Life’s Sweet Essentials has an easy Lolita straw hat DIY tutorial which you can adapt with your own choice of fabric, lace, ribbons, flowers and handmade touches.
