I’ve been admiring the creations from Dendennis on Facebook and that’s how this cute gingerbread man showed up on my timeline. Turned out that this is one of his free amigurumi patterns, along with those of other Christmas critters!
These Christmas Tree, Snowman and Reindeer busts are easy patterns to crochet. I think they all look equally cute. Of course Christmas wouldn’t be complete without Santa himself.
Dennis is a Dutch amigurumist and that explains the smoked sausage (rookworst) above. It’s a large sausage that Dutch people like to eat with mashed potatoes and vegetables, not very haute cuisine (^_−)
I think that both beginners and more experienced crocheters can find nice projects on the Dendennis website. Not all amigurumi patterns are free, but their prices on Etsy and Ravelry are very reasonable. My personal favourites are Molar the Tooth and Lavender Lenny the Bunny. Dendennis has also published two books with unique crochet characters, which haven’t been released in English (yet). Good news though: more translated patterns from the books will become available online over time!
