  • I’m so happy to see the Rilakkuma Store plush managers are back – with mini versions! There’s been so many photos on Instagram and I love them all.
  • Meet the Weirdest Mascots Competing in Japan’s 2026 Yuru Kyara Championship at Tokyo Weekender. The Water Boiling Trio Cuties are making me cry tears of joy.
  • SoraNews24 tried out Japanese hotel chain Toyoko Inn’s new Oshi-Katsu Sleepover Plan which includes mini bedding and pyjamas for your favourite plush.
  • Who wants to sleep inside a Poké Ball? Your dreams could come true very soon with a new glamping experience in Hokkaido, inspired by Pokémon Sleep. No guarantees that Pikachu will be there to greet you though.
  • A cute look at how the Chibird x Usagyuuun collab came together, including the original sketches.
  • Substack has its problems but there are so many great writers and creators joining. I’ve recently been enjoying The Good Scissors, a monthly craft magazine by Kate Robyn, who also has a really helpful Beginner’s Guide to Cross-Stitch (From a Beginner).
  • One for art buffs as San-X & Miffy have created special plush for an exhibition of European Treasures That Made It to America, inspired by artworks from Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet and more. There’s even an amigurumi Vincent van Gogh.
  • I’m very intrigued that Pokemon are partnering with the European Space Agency for World Space Week in October. Keep an eye on Instagram for updates.
  • Krispy Kreme’s cute Pokemon donuts are available in the US just now so catch ‘em while you can. Looks like you can order online too.
  • If you’re near Fair Oaks, CA, Vegan Dollhouse is hosting a Vegan Afternoon Tea on September 19th in aid of a local chicken rescue. Robin also has a new detailed guide to vegan and cruelty-free nail polish brands.
  • The ARTBOX Cafe in Brighton, UK, has announced that the My Melody & Kuromi Tea Room theme will be ending this year. If you have a chance to visit, the afternoon tea is back for the next 6 weeks.
  • Cakes with Faces’ guide to Pop-up Theme Cafes in Japan has loads more to choose from, including Sanrio, San-X, Chiikawa and Hamtaro.
  • Bookmarked have added more free patterns from the publisher’s craft books including an amigurumi birthday cake and the final part of the Miffy crochet along.
  • Sew Desu Ne? creates regular Free Pattern Friday plush patterns – check out the recent designs for leaf sheep sea bunnies and bean bag animals.
  • The Make Arcade is adding a free mini cross stitch pattern every week this year at The Mini Stitch Project.
  • Chococat is Friend of the Month at Sanrio – download your free printable calendar and look out for some special content on their YouTube and socials. US readers can also enter to win a Pompompurin & Chococat gift box.
  • I’m a bit gutted that the Miffy x Grind collab is mostly sold out as the cups and cafetiere are too cute! You can still get the tin, towel and cap though.
  • The Halloween Jellycats usually sell out before we do our roundup post so go get them. There’s some very cute new characters and a few restocks.
  • New to our blog or not checked in for a while? The Best of Super Cute Kawaii is updated every month and collects our top posts including the most popular, our own favourites and original guides & DIYs.

It’s been so cool watching Kaila & co create their dream stationery shop in Tokyo and now they’ve moved an even bigger and better Rainbowholic Stationery Land! See how it all came together and then check out the shop tour.

The Sanrio Virtual Festival 2026 Summer Edition was streamed live at the weekend with a whole load of artist performances and Sanrio characters. If you missed it, you can still watch it back.
