If you’re a Sanrio fan, you have so many different things to choose from as Sanrio (US), ARTBOX (UK) and Plaza Japan (JP) all have an overwhelming – and overlapping – selection of storage boxes, displays and organisers. Sanrio have even collaborated with illustrator Mizutama for some sweet pen cups in 3 styles, available at Cute Things From Japan (JP). If you have any mugs that are too precious or weirdly-shaped to drink from, a pen cup is a great way to make them useful.
I have to include these Rilakkuma & Korilakkuma display shelves even though they’re a bit of a dream pick as they’re expensive, made to order in Japan and have a lot of glass to make shipping too risky. They are so cute though and you could maybe paint some similar shelving for a DIY version. If you are in Japan, San-X (JP shipping only) are taking orders for the next 3 weeks with delivery in October.
If you’re a Kirby fan, Japan Figure (JP) have lots of cute storage boxes and baskets in various sizes from the T’s Factory brand. There’s a few other useful bits too and I’m very taken with this multi stand for tablets, complete with space for a charging cable and a pot for your Apple Pencil or other accessories so you’ll never lose them again.
Kawaii Republic (JP) have some rare and secondhand products featuring Sanrio, San-X and hard to find characters like Chiikawa. These mofusand storage boxes have a clear window – great for finding what you need in a hurry or displaying things you want to keep dust-free.
I rely so much on plastic crates around my house as they have so many uses and are both stackable and collapsible. Mine aren’t cute though so I’d love to swap them for these Fuku Fuku Nyanko crates in 2 sizes and colours from HAPiNS (JP – requires forwarding service).
This fabric My Neighbour Totoro storage box from Maison Ghibli (EU) is too pretty to hide away in a cupboard! The open top and carry handles would make it useful for laundry or towels.
