I’m going to make this a regular feature so we can all enjoy the new themes every month. During March, you’ll find new collections and products for Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, Jinbe San and Chickip Dancers, plus free wallpapers. Shopping links and info is at the end of the post.
My favourite theme this month is definitely Korilakkuma’s Full of Strawberry Day. That little bear really loves strawberries, even trying to feed them to a sleepy Rilakkuma.
Everything in this collection is adorable and as well as the usual plush and stationery, there’s some really fun items like a key case, trinket dish and strawberry drawstring bag. There’s even a special order plush set with Korilakkuma & Kogumachan in bunny outfits. I have to say this is a real missed opportunity to make human-sized version of Korilakkuma’s strawberry backpack from the Netflix show!
Jinbesan has made some new Ice Cream jellyfish friends and as a big fan of food/animal mashups, I am very happy about it. I really love the pastel colours and sprinkles and whipped cream decorations. The plush are the stars here with pastel polka dots and a big plush with a mouth big enough to store small plush! The pochette bag is a dream too. This collection went on sale yesterday so hopefully there’s still plenty of stock left.
Can you believe it’s already the 3rd anniversary of Chickip Dancers? They haven’t quite become top favourites at San-X yet but they’ve got some fun new events and collaborations happening, plus a new Delicious Burger collection. That coin pouch is incredible and there’s lots of hilarious plush too.
I have to mention the Sumikko Gurashi x Mister Donut collection too as it’s so amazing with loads of donut-themed plushies and even a shop playset. The actual donuts are really good too so definitely stop by if you’ll be in Japan soon.
Which is your favourite collection?
How to buy San-X
The collections above can all be ordered from the San-X shop but you’ll need to use a forwarding service outside Japan. Otherwise you need to keep an eye on resellers. AmiAmi (JP) almost always has everything listed before release, Very Goods (JP) are very slow at the moment but usually add most items within a few weeks, while international shops can take quite a few months. We can recommend Cuteness (EU – has most collections within a month or two and also does preorders), ARTBOX (UK) and Oshoppu (UK) or use our guide to The Best Kawaii Shops Worldwide for more options (sadly most US shops mainly stock San-X products made for the US market). You can also search on Ebay and Amazon Japan.
